Terms of Service.

These terms set the ground rules for using Pin High. They are written for a recreational golf product, not a rules committee.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Sam Jandris, operator of Pin High (“Pin High,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Pin High app or website, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Pin High.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pin High. If the law where you live requires a parent or guardian’s consent before you may use an online service, you represent that you have that consent.

2. What Pin High provides

Pin High provides recreational golf features such as live group scorecards, course and tee information, GPS yardages, maps, weather, side-game calculations, friendships, invitations, round history, and statistics. Features may change as the product develops.

Use your judgment on the course. Pin High is not a safety, emergency, navigation, rules-official, handicap-certification, or weather-warning service. Yardages, maps, conditions, course data, calculations, and availability can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Follow course signs, staff instructions, local rules, and official weather or emergency alerts.

Handicaps entered in Pin High are self-reported unless explicitly stated otherwise. Scores, allocations, and side-game results are for casual use and are not official World Handicap System records.

3. Accounts and access

You agree to provide accurate account information, keep your credentials and devices secure, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care. Do not share passwords or verification codes.

You may use Apple or Google sign-in. Those services have their own terms, and losing access to a provider account may affect your ability to sign in. You may export supported Pin High data or initiate permanent account deletion from Profile. More detail appears on the account deletion page.

4. Your content and shared rounds

You retain ownership of information you submit, such as profile details, scores, statistics, round settings, course reports, and support messages (“Your Content”). You give Pin High a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and display Your Content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service.

You are responsible for having the right to submit Your Content and for entering other players’ names or scores appropriately. Information entered into a shared round may be visible to its participants. If you create a public share link, anyone with that link may be able to see the information presented there. Remove or disable sharing when you no longer want that access.

Course information may include reports or corrections from users. We may review, edit, reject, or remove submissions, and you grant us permission to use those submissions to correct or improve the course catalog.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Use Pin High unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm someone.
  • Access another person’s account or nonpublic data without permission.
  • Interfere with the service, bypass limits or security controls, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization, or distribute malicious code.
  • Scrape, bulk-export, resell, or redistribute Pin High, its course database, or licensed provider data except through features we expressly make available.
  • Reverse engineer the service except to the limited extent applicable law permits despite this restriction.
  • Use side-game features to operate unlawful gambling, payment, or wagering activity. Pin High records recreational calculations only and does not collect or settle money.

We may investigate suspected misuse and take reasonable action to protect users, providers, and the service.

6. Third-party services and data

Pin High relies on services and data from providers such as Clerk, Convex, Expo, Apple, Google, Cloudflare, OpenGolfAPI, OpenStreetMap contributors, Golf Intelligence, Open-Meteo, and, when configured, monitoring or analytics providers. Their products, availability, and data may be subject to separate terms and licenses. Required map or data attribution must remain visible.

We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their independent acts or outages. We may replace or remove a provider or feature when needed to comply with licenses, protect users, or operate the service.

7. Pin High ownership and feedback

Pin High and its software, design, trademarks, and original content—excluding Your Content and third-party material—belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the service for its intended purpose.

If you send ideas or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, but you are not required to provide feedback.

8. Availability, disclaimers, and liability

Pin High is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free results, complete course coverage, or accurate GPS, weather, score, handicap, or game calculations.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Pin High and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from the service. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for claims relating to Pin High will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us for the service during the 12 months before the claim.

Some places do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Suspension, deletion, and changes

You may stop using Pin High at any time and may initiate account deletion in the app. We may suspend or end access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risk, legal obligations, provider restrictions, or material violations of these Terms. When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export data.

We may update the service and these Terms. We will post revised Terms and update the effective date. If a material change requires notice or consent, we will provide it as required. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised Terms.

If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about your use of Pin High unless we agree otherwise in writing. Applicable law governs without overriding consumer protections that apply where you live.
